Ack! You can’t access your pictures because they’re corrupted, a hard drive failed, or your memory card crashed. Good news–you can probably recover your images with a free tool called PhotoRec.Ā PhotoRec (and qPhotoRec) scan your disk or memory card for traces of your images and then attempt to recover them. I’ve used it many times with success. If you use Adobe Lightroom, there’s a tool that usesĀ the previews Lightroom automatically generates to recover a versionĀ of your pictures.
